INSTRUCTORS- Part time
 |
Part-time position:
flexible hours. Our swim classes are held from 9am-7:30pm Mon-Thurs, 9a-6p
on Fri. and 9a-2p on Saturday and 1-4 on Sunday. An instructor can work
as many hours as they would like, but the hours must be consistent week to
week for the duration of the 12-14 week session, so that the children have a
consistent teacher throughout the session. Instructors receive
discounted swim lessons for their own children or grandchildren. |

Duties: Instruct the students in our swim school |

Supervise children |

Follow the curriculum designed by the Red Cross and Swim-in
Zone, Inc. |

Prepare lesson plans for all classes. |
 |
Attend swim school instructor in-service meetings.
Instructor applicants must spend 2-4 hrs. in the pool as part of the
interview process. This will be paid at minimum wage. It is very important for the
applicant to know exactly what is expected of a Swim-in Zone
instructor. They should know what it is like to stand in the water
and teach. Swim-in Zone can also better evaluate the
applicants ability to connect with the children, their knowledge of
swimming and their ability to do the job. Once the job is
offered there will be approximately 15 hrs. of additional training required.
The training rate is less per hour than the offered hourly wage
as a Swim-in Zone Instructor.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or senior in high school. |

Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid or willing to get
certified within 6 months. |

PA. Child Abuse and Criminal Record Background Clearance if
over 18 years old. |
 |
Background or experience in education, physical education
and teaching desirable. |
 |
Competitive swimming background desirable or at least able
to swim well. |
 |
Experience as instructor, coach and lifeguard desirable.

Personable, enthusiastic, organized individual. |
 |
Very kid friendly and lots of experience with young children |
 |
Motivator- want to make a difference in a child's life and
re-introduce them to the wonderful world of water. |

Children are sometimes upset by seeing facial hair or tatoos,
so applicants must be clean shaven and all tatoos covered. We do not permit
piercings or large hoop earrings as the children can pull on them and hurt
the instructor. Only one piece swim suits permitted. Hair must be the color
of a normal human being. We are a conservative swim school! Parents trust
you with their children's lives. |

Part time Front Desk Sales and Customer
Service:
Sell something that might save someone's life someday- the life skill of
learning to swim!! Part time daytime, evenings and/or weekends.
Qualifications: Experienced professional, sales personality, organized,
able to multitask, able to set parents minds at ease, able to resolve
conflicts, at ease with the computer, organized, honest, flexible,
reliable, professional in appearance, responsible, willingness to learn
new things, able to get along with others and most importantly love kids.
Applicants must spend 2-4 hrs. at the
desk as part of the
interview process. This will be paid at minimum wage. It is very important for the
applicant to know exactly what is expected of a Swim-in Zone
employee. They should know what it is like to multitask and work
with our unique computer program. Swim-in Zone can also better evaluate the
applicants ability to connect with the clients and their ability to do the job. Once the job is
offered there will be approximately 1-2 weeks of additional training required.
The training rate is less per hour than the offered hourly wage.

desk is open from 8:30am-8pm weekdays and 8:30am-6pm Saturdays and 12-6pm on
Sundays. Employee may chose to
work the same shift or vary their shift according to their personal schedule and
the needs of Swim-in Zone. May be
combined with instructor or lifeguard position for additional hours if candidate has
strong swimming

Swim-in Zone’s Interview
Process is a 2 step process.
The purpose of the first
interview is to review the application, give the applicant a tour of the
facility, identify the responsibilities of the job and to observe if the
applicant has the right personality for the job. The applicant will be
called if they are to come back for the second interview.
The second interview is
an on the job interview. All applicants must spend from 1-4 hours in the
job situation as part of the interview process. It is understood that this
time is paid at minimum wage. It is very important for the applicant to know exactly
what is expected of a Swim-in Zone employee. Someone applying for a
teaching position should know what it is
like to teach in the pool; a lifeguard should try
out watching our pool; and customer service/sales staff must see what it
is like to multitask, sell swim lessons and work on the computer with our
scheduling programs. Swim-in Zone can also better evaluate the applicant’s ability to
connect with our clients, their knowledge of swimming or computers and
their ability to do the job. Once the job is offered there may be as much
as 20hrs. of additional training required depending on the job and the
applicant’s experience. The training rate is less per hour than the
offered hourly wage as a Swim-in Zone employee. Lifeguards and teacher's aides
while still under 20years of age may be paid a training rate for 60 days
as permitted by law.
All employees are entitled to a free individual membership and
Red Cross re-certifications if the classes
are taught at Swim-in Zone. Employees interested in other Red Cross
certification classes are charged for books and materials only. Lifeguards who
take the Red Cross Lifeguard Training at Swim-in Zone and then are offered a job
at Swim-in Zone are not reimbursed for their initial training; however, all
re-certifications while an employee are free if done at Swim-in Zone.
Lifeguards:
Certification required. If you were certified in the past or have had Wildwater Park Training, please apply for the lifeguard job as we can assess
your skills and recertify you with the Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course. Lifeguards who take the Red Cross Lifeguard Training at Swim-in Zone and
then are offered a job at Swim-in Zone are not reimbursed for their initial
training; however, all re-certifications while an employee are free if done at
Swim-in Zone.

of the interview process. This will be paid at a training rate as
allowed by law or minimum wage. It is very important
for the applicant to know exactly what is expected of a Swim-in Zone
lifeguard. They should know what it is like to be responsible for the
safety of all swimmers, teachers and people in the multipurpose room.
Swim-in Zone can also better evaluate the applicants ability to
connect with the children, parents and staff, and their
knowledge of lifeguard training, and therefore, their ability to do
the job. Once the job is offered there will be approximately 2-3
hrs. of additional training required. Coaches

Part-time position: flexible hours. Our
swim team practices are
held between 4-7:15pm weekdays and Saturday mornings. |

Coaches for our swim team will not be required to attend
meets. We will have "fun home meets" in our 3 lane pool. |
 |
Duties: Coach the swimmers on our "instructional non-competitive"
swim teams. |

know exactly what is expected of a Swim-in Zone teacher's aide. They should
know what it is like to stand in the water and teach for 3 hours. Swim-in
Zone can also better evaluate the applicants ability to connect with the
children, their knowledge of swimming and their ability to do the job.
Once the job is offered there will be approximately 2 hrs. of additional
training required. The training rate is less than minimum wage. After the
training is completed, the teacher's aide will be paid at a training rate
for the first 60 days and then move up to minimum wage. |
